I want to give away my Roamio OTA & Mini. What about the remaining "contract"?

My "refurbished" units have never worked together out of the box, and after 5 weeks of daily cs help I believe they never will.  The famous "known" unresolved V70 software error that bricks Minis appeared again with Nov software updates.  My friend only needs a one TV solution and since the Roamio works by itself he is willing to finish out my 1 year commitment so I can move on to a functional product.  What is the best way to do this?  Have him start an account and transfer equipment or just take over my account and change vital info?


I would prefer to have him start his own account.  But will TiVo demand the remaining balance beforehand in addition to charging him $15 per mo - effectively double billing for the remaining service? 


How best to do this?

We would advise to cancel the service on your device and have the new owner activate their own service.
