Can stream to Android, but not PC (all on same network)

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere ...

 

I can't stream anything to my PC ... but streaming to my android devices works just fine.  TiVo unit is a Bolt.   Everything is on the same network, so I guess I'm confused.  When I try to stream on my PC, I get redirected to Amazon Prime.  :(

 

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Hi rwbrents

The PC is not part of the streaming application. However, TiVo BOLTs can stream only their content  to the App or TiVo Online. To know more about TiVo Online, you can visit this link: https://support.tivo.com/SupportPortalArticleViewPage?artURL=/articles/Features_

When you say "TiVo Online", do you mean http://online.tivo.com ?     When I said that I couldn't stream to the PC, I was referring to that website and the fact that I can't stream any of my recorded programs that show up on "My Shows" on that website.

 

Am I missing something here?

I apologize for the confusion. Have you tried rebooting everything, the TiVo, the PC, the router?

Yes.   Everything.   Even reset the router to factory defaults thinking that maybe somehow I'd messed up my network, as well as doing the same to the Bolt and setting it up all over again.  All I ever did to the Bolt that may have been out of the ordinary was to assign it a static IP ... I changed that back to dynamic and still have the same results.

 

I'm at a total loss here :(

rwbrents, Did this start when you first posted on here?  I have the same issue and it started the beginning of Aug.  It worked in July.  I can stream to my IPHONE and the 2nd Bolt I have in my daughters room streams.  The BOLT in the living room does not stream.  When I click on a show from the My Shows list all I get is the cursor spinning like it is loading and never loads.  I have unplugged the Bolt, my computer, my modem and my router and plugged them back in, I have forced connection of the Bolt to Tivo and it still won't work.

Hello rwbrents and comm13,

 

Do you already have the new software version 20.7.2 RC24?  This new Tivo software release fixes the problems with streaming.


The software version is listed on the Software Version line of the System Information screen. From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Help > Account & System Info > System Information

comm13:   This is the first time I've tried to use Tivo Online ... so I don't know about prior to August.  Sorry.

Confirmed broken.  PC streaming from online.tivo.com worked fine the day before the update, now clicking on any show to play opens up the player window, much larger than before, and just sits at a spinning circle.

+1 Works fine streaming to iDevices. Won't stream to any browsers on my Macs (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, all updated).

We sincerely apologize for the issues you're having with the TiVo Online. Since you guys have already exhausted all the possible troubleshooting steps (reboot PC and router , clear cache and cookies, using different browsers, etc.) to fix the issue, but to no avail, we suggest that you contact our Customer support to further investigate this as this might be a known issue. You can reach them at 877-367-8486.

Just a bunch of "Our engineers are aware and are working on this issue" from the TiVo mods.
