Current model Tivo's wil work with both cable and over the air (antenna) signals. You don't have to have cable, or even connect an antenna. You will need to pay the montly Tivo subscription fee to be able to use the Tivo, and access Netflix. As I'm sure you are aware, Netflix has it's own monthly subscription fee.

Thank you so much for responding so quickly!  I am happy to hear that all I need is internet access, TIVO subscription and Netflix subscription!

If you are within range, you can connect an antenna and the the OTA staions for free.
